3. When the installation program begins, the HP Setup Launcher appears allowing
you to install software and view documentation for various applications from HP.
The listed applications will depend on which products are included on the CD or in
the web download. To install Storage Mirroring Recover for Virtual Infrastructure,
select Storage Mirroring Recover from the list of products and then select Install
Storage Mirroring Recover for Virtual Infrastructure .
4. Depending on your version of Windows and the components you have installed,
you may see an initial screen indicating that you should install Microsoft .NET
Framework. If you do not see this screen, your server already has the appropriate
version of Microsoft .NET. The best practice is to install Microsoft .NET before
installing Storage Mirroring Recover for Virtual Infrastructure. Clicking Install will
continue the installation program and give you the opportunity to install or skip the
Microsoft .NET installation. Clicking Cancel will exit the installation program.
Note:
The Microsoft .NET installation in the Storage Mirroring Recover for
Virtual Infrastructure installation is via a web download. If your server
does not have an Internet connection, you must manually install Microsoft
.NET from the Storage Mirroring Recover CD or from a copy from the
Microsoft web site.
5. Review and accept the HP license agreement to continue with the installation
program. Click Next to continue.
6. If desired, specify where the Storage Mirroring Recover for Virtual Infrastructure
files will be installed. Click Next to continue.
7. Select the type of installation you would like to perform on this machine.
Client and Server—This option installs both the client and server
components. The server components are required for systems that will
function as a source or target. The server requires an activation code for the
service to run. The client does not require an activation code, but it is
required to administer this and other servers throughout the organization.
Client—This option installs only the client components. The client
components do not require an activation code, but are required to administer
servers throughout the organization.
Note:
During a client-only installation, you may be prompted to reboot if a
background process, such as a service, was running that held files
in use. This reboot is not actually necessary.
9. Click Next to continue.
10. You will be prompted to enter your activation code information. Your Activation
Code is a 24-character, alpha-numeric activation code which applies the
