Licensing
The Licensing tab identifies the Storage Mirroring license(s) applied to the server. The display for this tab will vary depending
on different licensing requirements.
 Activation Code—This is the Storage Mirroring license which is required on every Storage Mirroring server. There are
different licenses available.
 Evaluation—An evaluation license has an expiration date built into the activation code. When the license expires,
the software will no longer function. The same evaluation licenses can be used on multiple machines on a network.
 Single—A single license is available on a per-machine basis. Each server is required to have a unique Storage
Mirroring license whether it is functioning as a source, target, or both. A single license can only be used on one server
on a network.
 Site—A site license is available to register every machine with the same Storage Mirroring license. This license is
designed to be used on multiple servers on a network.
The activation code is a 16 or 24 character, alpha-numeric code. This code determines the Storage Mirroring license that
is in use and can be changed without reinstalling Storage Mirroring, if your Storage Mirroring license changes.
 Additional Codes—This lists any Storage Mirroring additional codes, for example, for add-on components, that you
have licensed. Enter the activation code and click Add. The code and the code description will be listed in the box below.
If you need to remove a code, highlight it and click
Remove.
