instructions to meet your goal.
Installing or upgrading Storage Mirroring on page 3-4—Use these instructions if you are installing or upgrading Storage
Mirroring. You can also use these instructions to repair or modify an existing Storage Mirroring installation.
Installing or upgrading Storage Mirroring automatically on page 3-6—Use these instructions if you want to automate the
installation or upgrade of Storage Mirroring.
Uninstalling Storage Mirroring on page 3-9—Use these instructions if you are removing Storage Mirroring.
Uninstalling Storage Mirroring automatically on page 3-10—Use these instructions if you want to automate the removal

System Requirements
Before you begin the installation, verify that each machine that will be used as a Storage Mirroring source or target meets the
following system requirements.
Operating System and Licensing—There are different Storage Mirroring licenses depending on the operating system you
are using. Be sure you have the correct license for your operating system.
File System—Storage Mirroring supports the same file system formats that Microsoft
supports: FAT, FAT32, and NT FS.
System Memory—There are different memory requirements depending on the operating system you are using. Be sure
you have at least the minimum amount of memory for your environment. You may want to consider having at least the
recommended amount of system memory.
License Operating Systems
NAS
Windows Storage Server 2003 or 2003 R2
Windows 2000 Powered OS with SAK 2.0 or 2.5
Server Edition
Windows Server 2003 or 2003 R2 Standard, Web, or Standard x64 Edition
Windows 2000 Server Service Pack 4 and the Update Rollup Package
Enterprise Edition
Windows Server 2003 or 2003 R2 Enterprise or Enterprise x64 Edition
Windows 2000 Advanced Server Service Pack 4 and the Update Rollup Package
Any valid operating system which can be used with a Storage Mirroring Server
