Installing other applications or libraries when HP P6000 Replication Solutions Manager
5.6 is already installed
IMPORTANT:
HP P6000 Command View must be upgraded to version 10.2 before upgrading to HP P6000
Replication Solutions Manager 5.6.
HP P6000 Replication Solutions Manager Server 5.5 is not supported with HP P6000 Command
View 10.0 or lower.
HP P6000 Replication Solutions Manager Server 5.4 is not supported with HP Command View
EVA 9.4 or lower.
If HP Command View for Tape Libraries 2.8 is installed, you must remove it before installing HP
P6000 Command View 10.2.
Replication manager restrictions
The following restrictions apply:
The replication manager supports 2,048 LUNs per array.
HP P6000 Replication Solutions Manager 5.6 is not backward compatible with HP P6000
Command View 10.1 or earlier.
For information about operating system support, see Table 4.2, "Supported P6000 software
operating environments," in the HP P6000 Enterprise Virtual Array Compatibility Reference.
HP P6000 Replication Solutions Manager Host Agent 5.2 and later is not supported with VMDirect
settings.
HP P6000 Business Copy jobs from HP P6000 Replication Solutions Manager and ESX Server
4.0/4.1 with VMFS or RDM volumes are not supported using job templates. Only the Replication
Wizard option is supported.
Replication manager workarounds
This section provides important notes and workarounds.
Enabled host information is not displayed
If the replication manager does not display HBA information for an enabled host, HP recommends
that you install the Fibre Channel Information Tool (fcinfo) on the host. You can download fcinfo
from the following Microsoft website:

Using Launch Device Manager to launch HP P6000 Command View
When using Launch Device Manager to launch HP P6000 Command View, it is necessary to re-enter
the user name and password. This applies to both HP P6000 Command View array-based and
server-based management.
Installation and configuration
Database migration failure
If the installation fails when upgrading to HP P6000 Replication Solutions Manager 5.6, the following
error message is displayed:
The Export DB operation has failed. Continuing will uninstall the previous
version of RSM Server without exporting the DB. To manually export the DB, see the HP P6000
Replication Solutions Manager installation guide and then continue with upgrade.
When you receive this message, perform the following steps:
HP P6000 Replication Solutions Manager 5
