Instant restore
This section discusses topics relevant to instant restore.
Using instant restore on OpenVMS host volumes
Performing an instant restore from a snapclone on an OpenVMS host volume through the Instant
Restore wizard is not supported. However, you can perform a manual instant restore from the Vdisk
properties page of the replication manager server.
You must mount the HP OpenVMS host volume systemwide in order for instant restore and unmount
operations to work from the replication manager.
After performing the instant restore, you must present the source disk with the same OS unit ID
through HP P6000 Command View. Figure 3 (page 42) shows the OS unit ID.

Instant restore of unmounted host volume dynamic disk
Instant restore of the unmounted host volume dynamic disk (simple volume) does not work.
When the instant restore job pauses before the MountHostVolumeWithOptions job command,
go to the host and use the Logical Device Manager (LDM) to determine whether the dynamic disk
is in the offline state or the dynamic volume is in the failed state. If the former, use LDM to place
the restored dynamic disk in the online state; if the latter, reboot the host and continue with the
instant restore job.
