HP P6000 Replication Solutions Manager Administrator Guide (T3680-96069, June 2012)

Unsupported use with Terminal Services
Do not use the browser to access the replication manager when using Terminal Services on an HP
OpenView Storage Management Appliance.
Hidden SSL window
Before the replication manager GUI appears, a Secure Socket Layer (SSL) window requires you
to accept the security certificate. If the SSL window is hidden behind the browser window and you
do not respond, the replication manager cannot continue.
Press Alt+Tab and look for the icon labeled Java Plug In Security Warning, or minimize open
windows until you see the SSL window. Then, you can accept the security certificate and the
replication manager can display the interface.
Missing HBA information
The replication manager host adapter fails to get HBA information from the SNIA library on RHEL
4 U4 64-bit server. If the hbainfo.cfg file is missing or misplaced, the HBA Information
id field is blank.
To ensure that your sysem has the necessary libraries, you must install the HP Linux driver kit
(hp_qla2x00-yyyy-mm-dd.tar.gzand the HP Fibre Channel Enablement Kit. For more
information, see the HP QLogic Fibre Channel Host Bus Adapter and Driver Installation Guide.
Port conflicts
Red X port conflict
When the replication manager is launched, a red X is displayed in the lower left corner on the
connection status icon due to a port conflict with another remote software product.
Change the RMI port (port 5510). See “Changing the RMI port” (page 24).
HP P6000 Replication Solutions Manager CLUI port conflict
The Cisco Fabric Manager sometimes starts before the HP P6000 Replication Solutions Manager
(CLUI port 9001). To resolve this, change the CLUI client port by selecting ToolsConfigureCLUI.
High-security Internet Explorer
High-security browsers can block the replication manager interface, especially on Windows 2003
clients.
To correct this problem, remove and reinstall a supported JRE:
1. Remove all existing JRE or JVM installations listed in Add/Remove Programs.
2. If Netscape is installed, remove all versions.
Netscape automatically installs a JRE that can interfere with Internet Explorer on Windows
2000 and Windows Server 2003 systems.
3. Because removing Netscape does not remove the JRE, manually delete JRE subdirectories
under the Java or JavaSoft directory:
C:\Program Files\java
C:\Program Files\javasoft
4. Exit Internet Explorer and close all browser windows.
5. Install a supported JRE.
See “Unsupported JRE version” (page 49).
6. Launch Internet Explorer and select ToolsInternet Options.
