HP P6000 Replication Solutions Manager Administrator Guide (T3680-96069, June 2012)

This error can result from disrupted communication between the replication manager and its host
agent. For example, a host may have rebooted during the job. Look for host and host agent issues
and resolve the problem as instructed.
No presentation target found for host
You run a job and receive the following event:
No presentation target found for enabled Host name.
HP P6000 Command View did not recognize the specified host. To resolve this, restart HP P6000
Command View and ensure that the host is defined. For instructions on adding hosts, see HP the
P6000 Command View online help. Finally, in the replication manager, click the database refresh
icon .
No LUN found for a new host
A job fails after a CreateHostVolume or CreateHostVolumeGroup command and you
receive the following event:
Cannot find LUN
An incorrect HBA port name in HP P6000 Command View can cause this problem. To resolve this
situation, start HP P6000 Command View, navigate from the array (storage system) to the host
and its ports, and add the correct HBA worldwide name. For specific instructions, see the HP
P6000 Command View online help. Finally, in the replication manager, click the database refresh
icon .
Preallocated snapshot or snapclone not found
A job that creates a snapclone or snapshot using a container fails and you receive the event:
The virtual disk name was not found.
A folder name may be missing from the UNC name of the snapshot or snapclone after a
SnapcloneStorageVolumeToContainer or SnapshotStorageVolumeToContainer
command. Containers do not exist in folders, but the snapshots and snapclones that they become
are often in folders. The first example below incorrectly specifies the preallocated snapclone in the
command to wait for normalization. The second example shows the correct specification of the
created snapclone.
Error example:
CreateContainer(container1, 100, RAID5, \\hsv02\Disk Group 2 for
hsv02
SnapcloneStorageVolumeToContainer( \\hsv02\HP-UX\Vdisk001_large_hsv02,
\\hsv02\container1, WAIT )
WaitStorageVolumeNormalization ( \\hsv02\container1)
The job fails at this step because the snapclone container1 is created in the HP-UX folder.
Correct example:
CreateContainer(container1, 100, RAID5, \\hsv02\Disk Group 2 for
hsv02
SnapcloneStorageVolumeToContainer( \\hsv02\HP-UX\Vdisk001_large_hsv02,
\\hsv02\container1, WAIT )
WaitStorageVolumeNormalization ( \\hsv02\\HP-UX\container1)
