HP P6000 Replication Solutions Manager Administrator Guide (T3680-96069, June 2012)

Failure to mount snaps
After ensuring the latest driver components and HBAnywhere were installed on the hosts involved
(one cluster), the GUI indicated a good status (green checkmark) on the enabled hosts, but attempts
to run a job resulted in failure to mount the snapshots or snapclones.
Check the Internet binding order and ensure that the first item is the network on which the replication
manager server resides.
See “Configuring Windows and Linux systems with multiple network interface cards” (page 39).
Failure to load Windows authentication JNI module
An attempt is made to log on to the HP P6000 Replication Solutions Manager server.
This module requires MSVC runtime libraries msvcr80.dll and msvcp80.dll, which are VC++
redistributable files. You must update the patches on the Windows platform for the replication
manager server. You can download the latest patches from the Microsoft website:

Invalid license error
After updating an EVA4x00 to an EVA6x00, you receive an invalid license error message.
The EVA6x00 requires a different license from the EVA4x00. You must purchase a license upgrade.

Validation fails after failover
A job fails at DiscoverDiskDevicesForDrGroup after failing over a DR group. You receive
the following event:
Validation failed for operation: No storage volumes given
The destination virtual disk may not have been presented before the failover. In this case, select
the new source virtual disk in the replication manager GUI, and then select Add Presentations from
the Actions list. For failover procedures, see the HP P6000 Continuous Access Implementation
Guide.
Replicating host volumes or volume groups on mount points during heavy I/O
Job templates that replicate host volumes and host volume groups (for example, Replicate host
volume, mount to a host and Replicate host volume group, mount components
to a host) may fail at the point in the template where the host volume or volume group is created.
A log message may indicate that the server cannot find the volume. This failure may be the result
of heavy I/O occurring on corresponding mount points. To ensure that these job templates can be
completed successfully, select the Suspend source before replication option in the job template.
Troubleshooting other problems
The following topics suggest solutions to general problems.
Changing host name affects array manageability
Any changes to the host name or IP address of the replication manager server can cause jobs to
fail because the array is not discovered.
