HP Tru64 UNIX
Before installing the host agent software on an HP Tru64 UNIX host, ensure that:
• CXX 7.1 runtime libraries are installed on the HP Tru64 UNIX host. Download the libraries
from ftp://ftp.compaq.com/pub/products/C-CXX/tru64/cxx/CXXREDIST710.tar. You can
install the libraries before or after installing the host agent software, but they must be installed
before you start the replication manager.
• Before installing or removing the host agent software on an HP Tru64 UNIX host, set the
following environment variables:
BIN_SH=xpg4; export BIN_SH # Bourne shell
setenv BIN_SH=xpg4 # C-shell
Linux
Before installing the host agent software on a Linux host, ensure that you have:
• Installed the supported HBA failover driver.
• Disabled LDAP authentication. See your Linux documentation for more information.
NOTE: Upgrading and reinstallation are not supported on Linux Itanium systems. If you need to
upgrade or reinstall the host agent software, you must remove the current version first.
When installing the host agent software on any Linux Itanium or x64 server operating system using
Emulex or QLogic HBAs, you must also install the 64-bit SNIA library so the replication manager
can detect HBA information.
The SNIA library is available for download on the HP support website:

Solaris
Solaris x86 only: You must install JRE 1.4 before installing the host agent software. If the
recommended JRE version is not found, the installation stops and displays a message.
Ensure that you install the appropriate SNIA libraries on the Solaris host; otherwise, incorrect HBA
information is reported in the replication manager HBA/ports tab of the Enabled Host properties
window. This condition does not affect HBA operation, only the information reported to the
replication manager.
The following SNIA libraries are required:
• For JNI and Sun native HBAs, install the JNI SNIA Fibre Channel HBA library. The package
name is JNIsnia.
• For QLogic HBAs, install the QLogic SDM library. The package name is QLSDMLIB.
The SNIA libraries are included with HP Secure Path for Sun Solaris, but are not installed by default.
You can install the SNIA libraries before or after installing the host agent software.
Conflict between cfgadm utility and SNIA libraries
There is a conflict between the cfgadm utility and the SNIA libraries that are distributed with HP
Secure Path 3.0d on Solaris 10, which prevents the Solaris 10 host from working properly.
To resolve this conflict, install the 119974 patch on the Solaris 10 host before installing the SNIA
libraries.
