DescriptionAction
This utility verifies that the servers configuration
meets the requirements for HP Scalable NAS.
Run the mxcheck utility on each
server.
This step is needed only if your SAN
configuration includes a FalconStor device.
Set a HP Scalable NAS
parameter (optional).
This step is needed only if you will be using the
hardware snapshot feature.
Install snapshot software
(optional).
Connect to the console on one node and
configure the cluster via the Management
Console.
Configure the cluster.
Export the configuration to the other servers, test
the fencing configuration if necessary, and start
HP Scalable NAS.
Complete the configuration.
If you will be using Linux Device Mapper
Multipath, install and configure it as described
in Appendix C.
Install Linux Device Mapper
Multipath (optional).
If you will be using a client host outside the cluster to administer the cluster, you will
also need to install the Management Console on that host. The Management Console
is available for Linux and Windows systems.
1. Set up the SAN environment
Configure the storage array
Perform the initial configuration of the storage array as described in the array product
documentation. If you will be using the XIOtech MAGNITUDE array, see the following
article for more information.
