Engenio storage arrays
To take hardware snapshots on Engenio storage arrays, the latest version of SANtricity
Storage Manager client software must be installed on all servers in the cluster. Also,
the latest version of firmware must be installed on your storage array controllers. To
locate this software and firmware, contact your Engenio representative.
19. Configure the cluster
A windowing environment must be installed on the server where you are running the
Management Console.
You will be asked for the following information during the configuration:
The IP address or hostname of each server that will be in the cluster.
The location of your HP Scalable NAS license file.
A secret network key that provides security for network communications among
the cluster servers.
The fencing method (either Fibre Channel switch-based or Web Management-
based).
The IP address or hostname of each Fibre Channel switch that is included in the
SAN. (This information is required for Fibre Channel switch-based fencing and
optional for Web Management-based fencing.)
The partitions or LUNs to be used for membership partitions.
Hardware snapshot configuration, if you will be using this feature.
Connect to the cluster using the Management Console
To start the Management Console, first start the windowing environment on the server
and then type the following command:
$ mxconsole
On the HP Scalable NAS Connect window that appears next, type the host name or
IP address of the server in the Connect to field. Then click the down-arrow on the
Connect button. You will see two options: Connect and Configure. Click Configure.
