3 Remove HP Scalable NAS software
Remove HP Scalable NAS
NOTE:
If you need to uninstall HP Scalable NAS before upgrading to a later version of the
product, use the directions in the
HP Scalable NAS File Serving Software upgrade
guide
.
The software should be uninstalled from a location outside of the HP Scalable NAS
directory structure. Before removing the software, you will need to stop HP Scalable
NAS. To do this, run the following script:
# /etc/init.d/pmxs stop
Next, uninstall the software:
# rpm -e pmxs
The following message then appears:
Stopping HP Scalable NAS
This server needs to be rebooted before HP Scalable NAS can
be removed.
After the server has been rebooted, execute the 'rpm -e' command.
Configuring HP Scalable NAS not to start on boot: ..done
'/etc/init.d/pmxs autostart off' has been called to prevent HP Scalable
NAS from starting automatically on boot.
Reboot the server and run the rpm -e command again. HP Scalable NAS will now
be uninstalled.
Several HP Scalable NAS files (such as configuration and log files) are created during
normal operations and are not removed when you remove the product. The uninstall
procedure displays a message listing these files. You can then remove the files
manually.
