cluster, including cascading switches. If you are using an MPIO configuration,
be sure to configure all of the switches.
The default SNMP community string for HP Scalable NAS is private. If you
want to use a custom community string, include the --community <string>
option. The SNMP community string must be set to the same value on HP Scalable
NAS and the SAN switches.
mx config fcfencing
With Fibre Channel switch-based fencing, when a server needs to be fenced,
HP Scalable NAS will disable the servers access in the Fibre Channel fabric.
The server must be rebooted to regain access to the SAN.
mx config mp set <uuid1/partno> [<uuid2/partno>
<uuid3/partno>]
HP Scalable NAS uses a set of membership partitions to control access to the
SAN and to store the device naming database, which includes the global device
names that HP Scalable NAS assigns to the SAN disks placed under its control.
Specify either one or three LUNs or disk partitions be to used as membership
partitions. Note the following:
LUNs must already be partitioned as described under Create LUNs or Disk
Partitions for Membership Partitions.
The minimum size for a membership partition is 1GB.
mx server add <node>
Add the specified node to the cluster.
mx server start <node>
Start HP Scalable NAS on the specified node.
mx config description <description>
The cluster name or description appears on the title bar of the HP Management
Console. The name or description can contain up to 80 characters.
mx config webfencing --ruser <user name> --vendor <vendor> -
-mixedvendor yes|no --hostname <name>|--hostsuffix <suffix>
| --ipdelta <delta> [--type reset|shutdown] [--bladeslot
<slot>] [--sharedlogin yes|no] [--rpassword <password>]
Configure web management-based fencing, in which HP Scalable NAS uses
remote management hardware on the server to remove its access to PSFS
filesystems. iSCSI storage must use this fencing method. When configuring web
management-based fencing, you will need to specify how HP Scalable NAS
should identify the Remote Management Controller associated with each server.
Use one of these methods:
--hostname <host name>
Configure the cluster from the command line78
