Migration To migrate (Host VMotion) a VMware ESX Server Virtual Machine with HP P6000 Command View installed on the guest operating system: 1. Open a console session to the Virtual Machine which has HP P6000 Command View installed on it. 2. Go to the Services panel and stop the HP P6000 Command View service. 3. In the vCenter Server Virtual Client, right-click the Virtual Machine and select Edit Settings. 4. Select SCSI device 1.

5. 6. 4 Migration Select Remove and click OK to complete the process. Verify that the entry has been removed from the Virtual Machine. Right-click the Virtual Machine and select Migrate.

The Migrate Virtual Machine wizard opens. 7. Select the ESX server that you want to migrate the virtual machine to and click Next. 8. Select the Change host option and then click Next. The migration begins. 9. After the migration is complete, right-click the same Virtual Machine and select Edit Settings. NOTE: There is only one instance of the Virtual Machine; the original one and the migrated one are the same. Only the ESX server to which they belong changes. 10.

11. Select Raid HP as the SCSI Device and click Next. NOTE: There may be multiple entries if you have multiple HP P6000 controllers. Repeat the wizard for each of the controllers to add them to the Virtual Machine. 12. Click Next and then click Finish. 13. Open a console session to the Virtual Machine. 14. Open the Services panel and restart the HP P6000 Command View service.
