Installation procedures
The following procedures d escribe how to install the Hardware Providers.
If you have not already configuredtheserverandthearrayasinstructedin “Uninstalling
HWP,”
do so now before you install t h e HWP soft ware. HWP will not work if the array
and server have not been correctly config ured before you install H WP. For a summary of
the configuration steps, see Configuration procedures.
Upgrade installation
If you are upgrading from a previous version of H WP, before doing the installation
procedure that follows, uninstall the previous version of HWP. The uninstallation
procedure is explained under the heading Uninstalling HWPUninstalling HWP.
Install
ation summary
You will perform the following tasks during installation:
• Run the H
WP installation executable(s):
hp StorageWorks VDS hardware provider for EVA.msi
hp StorageWorks VSS hardware provider for EVA.msi
• Follow the InstallShield Wizard instructions to do the following tasks.
• Accep
t the license terms.
• Install the HP HWPs in the default or custom folder location.
• Enter the CV workstation IP address and log into Command View EVA.
• Conn
ect to the disk array.
• Select the disk group you created for VSS copies.
