Installation

HP recommends that a system administrator install the remote client. To install the remote client, perform

the followin

g procedure on each c omputer:

1. Determine the user's home directory, for example C:\Documents and Settings\<user-

name> in Win

dows or /home/<username> in Linux.

2. Copy the following folder from the management server to the user's home directory:

C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\sanmgr\cluiclient

3. Edit the pa

th environment variable to include the following path:

[user's home directory]\cluiclient\sbin

Installation is complete.

4. To verify i

nstallation, open a command window and enter:

clui -?

The remote client help menu should app ear.

Session ty pes

You can use the remote client to run interactive, single-command, and ﬁle-driven CL UI sessions:

• Interactive—Initiates a session that remains open until you close it.

• Single command—Initiates a session, executes a single command, and closes the session.

• File-driven—Initiates a session, executes all commands in the ﬁle you reference, and closes the

session.

Assumptions

All examples assume the following settings:

• Theremoteclientﬁles have been installed and conﬁgured on a remote computer that is running

Windows.

• The network nam e of the managem ent server is server16.

• Theinterfaceisusingthedefaultsecureportof9001.

• The replication manager has an account with user name admin and password nimda.
