requires the expired program product will be also disabled.
Licensed Capac
ity
The licensed c
apacity is volume capacity that you are licensed to use with a program product option.
You need to est
imate the amount of volume capacity that you want to use with the program product
option before
you purchase the permanent key or the term key. The licensed capacity has three types
depending on the program product option.
This section explains the licensed capacity t ypes and how to estimate the licensed capacity. For
details on wh
ich licensed capacity type to be estimated for the program product option, see
Remote Web Console Options on page 45.
The licensed capacity has three types:
Used capacit
y
The licensed c apacity is calculated from the capacity that the program product option will use.
See
below for how to calculate the licensed capacity.
Mounted Capacity
The license
d
capacity is calculated from the capacity mounted in the entire disk drive of the
storage system. For d etails on how to ca lculate the licensed capacity, contact your HP service
representative.
Unlimited C
apacity
You can use the program p roduct option regardless of the volume capacity.
The following explains how to calculate the licensed capacity b ased on the used capacity. The method
for calculating volume capacity depends on volume emulation t ypes.

OPEN-x
Same as the capacity that you specied when creating the volume.
Note
: In the left column of this table, x indicates a number or a letter. For example, O PEN-x refers to
emulation
typessuchasOPEN-3 and OPEN-V.
You can use the formulas in Table 10 on page 44 to estimate capacity for purchase. An example
is
given below:
