The Syslog window has the following features:
Output to Primary Server: You can specify whether to transfer the audit log to the syslog server.
This item allows you to specify whether to transfer the audit log to the primary syslog server. To
transfer the audit log to the primary syslog server, select Enab le. If you do not want to transfer the
audit
log to the primary syslog server, select Disable.
Primar y S erver Setting: You can set IP Address and Port Number for the syslo g server that you
want to set as the primary syslog server. As you set Output to Primary Server to Enable, IP
Address and Port Number become available. For both IP Address and Port Number,the defaults
have been entered, so change them as you need. For IP Address, you need to enter four integral
numbers in the range of 0 to 255 (for example, nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn,where n is a numeric) .
You need to enter only numbers, and not the periods. For Port Number, y ou need to enter an
integral number in the range of 1 to 65,535.
Output to Secondary Server: You can specify whether to transfer the audit log to the secondary
syslog server. To transfer the audit log to the secondary syslog server, select Enable.If you do not
want to transfer the audit log to the seco ndary syslog server, select Disable.
Seconda ry Server S etting: You can set IP Address and Port Number for the syslog server that you
want to set as the secondary syslog server. As you set O utput to Secondary Server to Enable, IP
Address and Port Number become available. For both IP Address and Port Number,the defaults
have been entered, so change them as you n ee d. The restriction for the available values is
thesameasthat of Primary Server Set ting.
Location Id entication Name : You can name the storage system that transfers the audit lo g to
syslog servers, so that you can identify the storage system. You can enter 32 one-byte characters
at the
maximum. Available characters are alphabetic (A-Z and a-z), numeric (0-9), and symbols
(including ! " # $ % & ' ( ) = - ~ ^ | \ { } [ ] @ : ; * + _ ? / < > .). However, a comma (,) and
aspacecannotbeused.
Output Detailed Information: You can set whether to transfer the detailed information for the audit
log i nformation le to the syslog server. To transfer the d etaile d information to the syslog server,
select Enable.If you do not, select
Disable.
