Enabling Options Using a License Key File
You can enable multiple options in a single procedure, using a license key file. The license key files are
provided by HP.
To install Remo
te
Web Console options on the Remote Web Console using the license key file:
1. Log in to the Remote Web Console a nd open the License Key window
(“License Key Window”onpage50).
2. Change to Modify mode.
3. From Mode,cli
ck
File.
The Browse button becomes available.
4. Click Browse to display the dialog box, and select the license key file (the file extension is plk) to
be
used for installing o ptions on the displayed window.
The selected file name is displayed in the File Name text box.
Note: The file n
ame
must be up to 200 alphanumeric characters (ASCII codes), except for some
symbols, such as ", \, ; , :, ,, *, ?, <, >, |, /. You need to be careful with the license key file name.
5. Click Install.
Note: The tim
e
taken for i nstalling de pends on the number of license key codes that you install.
For example,
if
you install 30 key codes, i t takes about three minutes. If you install 1000 key
codes, it may take more than 60 minutes.
6. Click Apply (or Ca ncel).
The status of
the
enabled options changes to Installed.
Note: If ins
tallation fails or a n error occurs during the installation, a message dialog box
appears and
liststhe failed options(see Figure 41 on page 84). To display the error detail in
the
dialog b
ox, select the failed option and then click Detail.

Enabling Options Automatically
When the licensed capacity exceeds the mounted capacity (or used capacity) bec ause of the reduction
of disk
drives, you can automatically enable only the available Remote We b Console options with
permanent keys using the Available button.
Whether the options c an be enabled or not using the Available button depends on the relationship
between the mounted cap a city of the disk drives and the licensed capacity. The following table shows the
condition of availability of the Available button.
