HP STORAGEWORKS ENTERPRISE FILE SERVICES WAN ACCELERATOR DEPLOYMENT GUIDE 105
10 - QUALITY OF SERVICE
Implementing QoS
This section describes the basic steps for using the HP EFS WAN Accelerator
Management Console (Management Console) to enable and configure QoS for a single
HP EFS WAN Accelerator. For more information and detailed procedures, see the HP
Enterprise File Services WAN Accelerator Management Console User Guide.
You can use the HP StorageWorks Enterprise File Services WAN Accelerator Manager
(EFS WAN Accelerator Manager) to enable QoS and to configure and apply QoS rules
centrally to HP EFS WAN Accelerators. For information, see the HP StorageWorks
Enterprise File Services WAN Accelerator Manager installation and configuration
guide.
Basic Steps 1. Set the default link rate for all network WAN interfaces. You set the link rate in the
Setup: Advanced Networking - QoS Classification page under General. For
information, see the HP Enterprise File Services WAN Accelerator Management
Console User Guide.
2. Enable QoS by specifying Enable QoS Classification in the Management
Console Setup: Advanced Networking - QoS Classification page.
3. Create QoS classes in the Management Console Setup: Advanced Networking -
QoS Classification page.
You can create multiple QoS classes, up to the allowable limit for your HP EFS
WAN Accelerator model.
For information on the maximum allowable QoS classes for each HP EFS WAN
Accelerator model, see “Maximum Allowable QoS Classes and Rules” on
page 104
