HP StorageWorks File System Extender Software V3.4 CLI reference (T3648-96013, October 2006)

2.13 NAME 104
–d, –device
Use tape medium as the source for retrieval of backup image(s). With this
source, FSE restore reads data from FSE medium loaded in the FSE drive
with control device DeviceFile. Additional options –offset, –count, and
–retrieve–to determine how many backup images are read from tape and
whether FSE restore is actually performed.
DeviceFile
Name of the control device file for the FSE drive that is used to read backup
image(s) from tape.
–o, –offset
Retrieve backup image from medium in the backup FSE media pool and
if neither of the options –count and –retrieve–to is specified perform
FSE restore using the retrieved backup image. The argument OffsetNumber
specifies which backup image is retrieved (and possibly used for restore).
This option can only be used in combination with the –device option.
OffsetNumber
Offset in the sequence of existing backup images on tape that identifies
the backup image which is to be retrieved. Backup images are counted
backwards from the most recent one: a value of 1 refers to the most recent
backup image, a value of 2 to last but one backup image, and so on.
–c, –count
Retrieve one or more backups images and do not perform FSE restore.
Number of backup images to be retrieved is specified with the argument
CountNumber. If additional options –retrieve–to DirectoryPath are not
specified, copy the retrieved backup image(s) to FSE disk buffer and report
target location of the backup image in the FSE disk buffer. This option can
only be used in combination with the –offset option.
CountNumber
Number of backup images that are retrieved. Backup images are counted
forward, starting with the backup image referred by OffsetNumber. Value
of CountNumber should therefore not exceed OffsetNumber.
