HP StorageWorks File System Extender Software V3.4 CLI reference (T3648-96013, October 2006)

2.14 NAME 109
Each FSE command communicates with the FSE processes through the Manage-
ment Interface (fse–mif). To execute an FSE command, the Management Interface
must be running. If the connection to the Management Interface fails, check its
status by running the fse status command. In case the Management Interface is
not running, start it with the fse – –start command.
After successful command execution fsesystem notifies the FSE administrator
with a suitable message, which is printed to the standard output stream (stdout).
If there was an error during the command execution, an appropriate error message
is printed to the standard error stream (stderr).
STATUS INFORMATION Status information that is printed using the
status option is the following:
number of configured FSE partitions,
total number of currently running administrative jobs on all FSE partitions.
For each configured FSE partition the following information is printed:
current partition status (ready, disabled, recovery mode, mounted, error, un-
known),
number of currently running jobs on the partition (excluding administrative
jobs),
fully–qualified domain name (FQDN) of the machine that hosts the parti-
tion,
mount point of the HSM file system that belongs to the partition.
Partition states have the following meaning:
-------------------------------------------------------------------
| STATUS | PARTITION | PART. MANAGER | HSM FS | ERROR |
-------------------------------------------------------------------
| ready | enabled | running | not mounted | |
| ready | enabled | running | mounted | X |
| disabled | disabled | not running | not mounted | |
