Cautions When Using the CCL
Be aware of the following cautions when using the CCL:
If you select the Client’s Floating option and use the CCL address to create a
virtual disk, you lose communication between the Client and your Agent. You
must reconfigure and restart your Agent to have it recognize either the new
CCL address or an existing virtual disk that is used for communication.
Within your controller, the CCL always floats to another LUN address if you
attempt to use its address to create a virtual disk. The Client’s Floating/Fixed
option affects only the way the Client presents available LUNs to the Add
Virtual Disk Wizard.
If you restart your controller, its CCL becomes the lowest available LUN
combination that is not already assigned to a virtual disk.
If you delete a virtual disk with a LUN address lower than that of the CCL and
then restart the controller, the CCL automatically moves to the lower address.
The result is a loss of communication with your subsystem. You must
reconfigure and restart your Agent to have it recognize either the new CCL
address or the address of an existing virtual disk used for communication.
