Preparing the Host System
106 HSG80 ACS Solution Software V8.8 for Sun Solaris Installation and Configuration Guide
To install the System Manager packages onto the hard disk:
1. Download the fcraid_v3.0d.tar.Z from the web site
http://h18006.www1.hp.com/products/storageworks/ma8kema12k/kits.html .
2. Copy or move the file to a temporary directory, uncompress and un-tar the
bundle, and run ./install_stgwks.
Note: The uncompressed tar file plus the un-tarred files require 107 MB of file system
space.
3. Load the Fibre Channel adapter driver packages.
4. Load the CPQptisp package (optional, only required to support legacy RAID
systems attached to an SBS-450 SCSI adapter).
5. Load the CPQfcraid package.
6. Load the HPfcraid package.
7. Configure WWPN/target bindings.
8. Restart your computer.
9. Write a label for LUNs using the format utility, and create filesystems if
required.
10. Configure the Agent to ensure subsystems are monitored. See Chapter 4 for
configuration instructions.
