Refer to the HP StorageWorks HSG60 and HSG80 Array Controller and Array
Controller Software Maintenance and Service Guide and the Solution Software
Release Notes for the latest information on upgrades.
The Solutions Software Version 8.8 for Sun Solaris Kit should come with the
ordered items on the FCO.
This Version 8.8 Solution Software includes Version 2.5b of the CPQfcraid RAID
Manager Software, and it contains upgraded HBA drivers (if you were running
ACS version 8.7 prior to the upgrade).
Note: Rolling upgrades are not supported on Sun Solaris when using Qlogic HBAs.
Use the following steps to upgrade Solution Software on Sun Solaris systems.
1. Ensure the appropriate Sun Solaris patches are installed.
2. Stop
steamd Agent from running. To determine if the steamd Agent is
running, type the following:
# /opt/steam/bin/config.sh
Select option 3. The resulting display will tell you if the Agent is running, and
prompt you with the option to stop it.
3. If you are running a Secure Path multiple-bus configuration, download the
"Secure Path Version 3.0D for Sun Solaris" from the following web site and
follow the upgrade instructions in the enclosed documentation. Secure Path
3.0D includes a complete upgrade of both solution software HBA drivers as
well as the latest Secure Path drivers. Installing Secure Path 3.0D will install
all software included in this kit so you do not need to return to this process.

4. If you are not running a Secure Path multiple-bus configuration, download the
HSG80 Solution Software update software from the following web site:
http://h18006.www1.hp.com/products/storageworks/ma8kema12k/kits.html
5. Move the compressed tar file to a temporary directory and uncompress and
un-tar the packages.
6. Run the install_stgwks script. Answer yes (y) to all queries to remove
and replace drivers and accept all defaults. This procedure will upgrade all
required drivers and will leave all correct revision packages unchanged.
7. Reboot your server.
