Verify that the capacity shown matches the size of the physical disk or
subsystem. If it does not match, recheck the logical configuration for the
Enterprise Storage RAID Array Fibre Channel system and its members.
Note: Disk Administrator and Disk Management displays the “usable” capacity of a
RAIDset and MIRRORset, not the combined total of the physical members.
Creating Partitions in Windows 2000 and Windows Server 2003 Using
Disk Management
The Create Partition Wizard enables you to create, format and assign drive letters
to partitions from your Windows 2000 and Windows Server 2003 (32-bit)
desktop. The Create Partition Wizard is started from the Disk Management
program. To start Disk Management in Windows 2000 and Windows Server 2003
(32-bit) perform the following steps:
1. Right click My Computer.
2. Select Manage.
3. Double-click Disk Management.
To format a partition using the Create Partition Wizard, perform the following
actions:
1. For each disk shown, click the partition that you want to create.
2. From the Action pull-down menu, choose All Tasks, Create Partition. This
action launches the Create Partition Wizard.
3. Click
Next.
a. Select Primary Partition.
b. Specify a partition size or the accept the default, which is the total
capacity available.
c. Assign a drive letter.
d. Select the format parameters such as NTFS, volume label of your choice,
quick or complete format (default).
The partition is now formatted.
4. Close the Disk Management program.
