INTRODUCTION
Hardware and Software Dependencies
The following table summarizes the hardware, software, and operating system
requirements for the HP EFS RCU.
NOTE: The HP EFS RCU depends on certain Common Internet File System (CIFS)
Application Programming Interfaces (APIs). While these APIs are supported on all Microsoft
Windows platforms, they might not be supported on all NAS solutions, such as Samba. (You can
use the HP EFS RCU to back up Samba shares if the data center is a Windows machine.)

(CIFS) server, and Network

to be data sources and targets,
when you specify a Universal
Naming Convention (UNC) or
mapped drive path.
Any client or server machine running Windows
2000 or later operating system.
