HP StorageWorks Enterprise File Services WAN Accelerator 3.0.4 release notes (AG421-96006, March 2007)

HP StorageWorks Enterprise File Services WAN Accelerator 3.0.4 release notes 7
Upgrading from version 2.1.11 to 3.0.4
This section describes how to upgrade the HP EFS WAN Accelerator software from version 2.1.11 to
version 3.0.4. These instructions assume you are familiar with the HP EFS WAN Accelerator, the HP EFS
WAN Accelerator CLI, and the Management Console.
You do not have to clear the data store before performing a software version upgrade.
To upgrade from version 2.1.11 to version 3.0.4:
1. Connect to the Management Console on each HP EFS WAN Accelerator.
2. Go to the Setup: Upgrade Software page and choose one of the following options:
URL. Type the URL that points to the software image in the text box.
Local File. Browse your file system and select the software image.
3. Click Install Upgrade.
Miscellaneous issues
SNMP configuration
The HP EFS WAN Accelerator Manager has two graphical user interfaces; one for appliance management
and general system management (the Management Console), and the other for the HP System
Management Homepage. Use the Management Console or the command-line interface to modify SNMP
settings, rather than the System Management Homepage. To change the read-write community string, use
the snmp-server rwcommunity CLI command.
NOTE: The read-write community string must be different from the read-only community string for proper
functioning of the System Management Homepage.
Setting the system date/time
When setting the system date/time in the web-based GUI, if the date and time is significantly off when set
to the current date and time, the GUI will log the user off. Should this occur, log back in, and the date is
now correct. You can then set the time.
Refreshing web GUI pages
When configuring items through the web GUI, at times a browser error may be returned stating Page not
found. When this occurs, press the Refresh button in the web browser, and the page often returns
correctly.
HP System Management Homepage
When logging in to the HP System Management Homepage, use the admin login only; do not attempt to
use a Radius or TACACS+ login.
The login page of the HP System Management Homepage does not allow a blank password. Set the
admin account password before attempting to login to the HP System Management Homepage.
When sending test traps from the HP System Management Homepage (Settings > SNMP Webagent >
SNMP Configuration), only version 1 traps are sent. Set a version 1 trap destination using the general
system Management Console (Setup > Reports > SNMP Trap Receivers) before attempting to send a test
trap using the HP System Management Homepage.
HP Integrated Lights-Out network settings
Modifying settings using the web-based interface of the HP Integrated Lights-Out (iLO) Network Settings
page (Administration > Network Settings) can result in the system locking up. If Automatic Server Recovery
(ASR) is enabled, the system will reboot after the ASR timeout value (see the system's ROM-Based Setup
Utility (RBSU) to determine if ASR is enabled.) To avoid this, access the WAN Accelerator Manager
command-line interface (CLI) and issue the following commands prior to modifying network settings on
iLO:
