9 Modifying or repairing P9000
Performance Advisor
After installing P9000 Performance Advisor or the host agents, modify the settings that you selected
during the installation.
Modifying P9000 Performance Advisor program features
You can modify the following P9000 Performance Advisor settings after installation:
• Selecting a different authentication method from the list
• Selecting or removing the P9000 Performance Advisor host agents and tools
For example, if you want to install a host agent that was not selected during the installation of P9000
Performance Advisor, choose to modify the P9000 Performance Advisor settings.
To modify the current P9000 Performance Advisor program features:
1. Log on to your management station as a default administrator (administrator:administrator).
2. Insert the P9000 Performance Advisor Installation disk 1 into the DVD drive. If the installation
wizard does not start automatically, run the PA_Server.exe file from the P9000 Performance
Advisor Installation disk 1.
The Welcome installation window appears.
3. Click Next.
4. Select Modify as the Program Maintenance type and click Next.
5. Select the authentication type that you want to implement for P9000 Performance Advisor users
and click Next. For more information, see “Implementing the authentication method” on page 48.
6. Select the program features that you want to install or remove, and click Next. For more
information, see “Selecting complete or custom installation method” on page 56.
7. Click Install on the Ready to Modify window.
The setup program transfers and removes application files (as appropriate) to, and from the
destination folder, and configures P9000 Performance Advisor. When prompted for the second
disk, insert the P9000 Performance Advisor Installation disk 2 into the DVD drive, and click OK
to continue.
8. When the program features are modified, the Installation Complete window appears. Click Finish
to close the installation wizard.
Repairing P9000 Performance Advisor program features
To repair the current P9000 Performance Advisor program features:
1. Perform steps 1–3 mentioned for modifying P9000 Performance Advisor program features (see
Modifying P9000 Performance Advisor program features on page 117.
