Set the Path system variable to the location, where JRE is installed on your UNIX host. For more
information, see Setting the JRE path for a P9000 Performance Advisor UNIX host
agent on page 131.
Stop the disk management services on your Windows host. For more information, see the user
manual provided for the respective Windows operating flavor.
Make enough disk space available for copying the host agent executable on the respective hosts.

Ensure that the host agent version you download from the P9000 Performance Advisor Support
screen is supported by the respective host specific operating platform. For more information, see

Resume and complete the installation. Verify that the Windows and UNIX host agent services have
started, and if the host agent records are displayed in the Host Information table on the Array View

Setting the JRE path for a P9000 Performance Advisor UNIX host agent
While installing a P9000 Performance Advisor UNIX host agent, the installation might fail displaying
the following error:
JAVA not found
The reason might be that the Path system variable on your host is not pointing to the location where
JRE is installed.
Resolution
Configure the Path environment variable to include the JRE location:
PATH=$PATH:/opt/java <ver>/bin
For example, PATH=$PATH:/opt/jre1.5/bin
Type echo %path% in the command prompt window to verify that the Path variable is updated.
The output lists the paths that are set on your UNIX host agent, and should include %jre <ver>%\
bin.
Resume the installation and verify that the P9000 Performance Advisor host agent services have

services on page 81.
P9000 Performance Advisor Database Listener service does not start after
installation or upgrade
After installing or upgrading P9000 Performance Advisor, the HP StorageWorks P9000 Performance
Advisor Database Listener service might not start automatically.
The following is the typical cause:
The HP StorageWorks P9000 Performance Advisor Database Listener service might not have started
after an upgrade. It can be due to an incorrect DNS name or a change in port number mentioned in
the listener.ora and tnsnames.ora files.
