HP StorageWorks P9000 Performance Advisor Software v5.2 Install Guide (T1789-96317, May 2011)

In all the above mentioned scenarios, the upgrade or installation process completes, but a Connection
refused error message appears when the host agent tries to establish connection with P9000
Performance Advisor.
Verify if the following are the reasons and rectify if required.
Verifying the HP StorageWorks P9000 Performance Advisor Tomcat service
Manually verify if the HP StorageWorks P9000 Performance Advisor Tomcat service is active on the
management station. If the service has stopped, try to restart the service by following these steps:
1. Select Start > Run and type services.msc.
The Services dialog box appears.
2. Right-click HP StorageWorks P9000 Performance Advisor Tomcat service and select Start from
the drop-down list.
If you have configured the HP StorageWorks P9000 Performance Advisor Monitor service to
automatically restart the tomcat service, it tries to restart the tomcat service for the retry count you
specified in the PAMonitor_mail.properties file available in the <Install_drive>:\HPSS\
paMonitor\conf folder on your management station. Then, it sends an email notification that
describes whether the restart tomcat service was a success or a failure. For more information on
configuring the HP StorageWorks P9000 Performance Advisor Monitor service to restart the tomcat
service, see the HP StorageWorks P9000 Performance Advisor Software User Guide.
Verifying the fully qualified server name or IP address of the management station
Manually verify and confirm if the fully qualified server name or IP addres of the management station
provided in the paxp_service.properties file is correct. The paxp_service.properties
file is available in the <Hostagent_Home>\config folder on your host system. <Hostagent_Home>
translates to the location where you installed the host agent. Ensure that you modify and save the
corrections, and restart the HP StorageWorks P9000 Performance Advisor Hostagent service. For
information on restarting host agent services, see Appendix B.
Following is a sample paxp_service.properties file in which the
ManagementStation.Hostname shows 01.01.01.01 as the management station IP address:
#com.hp.xpsl.hostagent.HostAgent
######################################################################
ManagementStation.Hostname=01.01.01.01
