Increasing the virtual memory on your management station
Increase the virtual memory for the <Installation_Drive>, where you intend to install P9000
Performance Advisor to the maximum configurable paging file size that your system supports.
To manually allocate the virtual memory (custom page file size) to the <Installation_Drive>:
NOTE:
The steps provided are applicable for the Windows XP operating platform. For increasing the paging
file size on another Windows operating platform, refer to the documentation provided for that Windows
operating platform.
1. Right-click My Computer and select Properties from the pop-up list.
2. In the System Properties window, click the Advanced tab.
3. Under Performance, click Settings.
4. In the Performance Options window, click the Advanced tab.
5. Click Change under Virtual Memory.
6. In the Virtual Memory window, click Custom Size (if not already selected).
7. Provide the maximum configurable custom page file size in the Initial Size (MB) box. The value
that you provide must be equal to the Maximum Size (MB).
By manually adding a custom page file size to the <Installation_Drive>, it also registers
a Page File Size (MB), which is displayed against the corresponding Drive [Volume Label] under
Virtual Memory.
8. Click OK on the Virtual Memory, Performance Options, and System Properties windows to save
the changes, and close the windows.
