HP StorageWorks P9000 Performance Advisor Software v5.2 Install Guide (T1789-96317, May 2011)

3. The installation wizard verifies the following on your management station and takes the appropriate
action:
If Microsoft .NET Framework v2.0 or later is installed.
If Microsoft .NET Framework v2.0 or later is not installed, a message appears displaying that
the required version is not available. Click OK on the message dialog box for the installation
wizard to install Microsoft .NET Framework v3.5 (recommended version).
If IIS Admin service is active or has stopped on the management station, and its startup type
is set to one of the following, the installation wizard takes appropriate action based on the
startup type:
If the IIS Admin service is running and the startup type is Automatic, the installation wizard
stops the service and sets the startup type to Manual.
If the IIS Admin service has stopped and the startup type is Automatic, the installation
wizard only sets the startup type to Manual. The IIS Admin service continues to remain
stopped.
If the IIS Admin service is running and the startup type is Manual, the installation wizard
only stops the service. The IIS Admin service startup type continues to show Manual.
If the IIS Admin service is stopped and the startup type is Manual, no action is taken by
the installation wizard.
IMPORTANT:
After the installation is complete, you can start the IIS Admin service again only if P9000
Performance Advisor is configured to use a port other than the one IIS Admin service is
supposed to use.
If the firewall is enabled, its settings are configured so that port 80 (or the port that P9000
Performance Advisor uses) and port 443 are added to the exception list of the firewall. This
is to enable the web browser clients to access P9000 Performance Advisor after installation.
After the above mentioned prerequisites check is completed, the P9000 Performance Advisor
Welcome installation window appears (see Figure 6 on page 45). The installation window
framework consists of the following:
Title pane: Displays the title of the current installation window, which also indicates the step
that you perform.
Left pane: Displays the list of installation steps that you will complete while installing P9000
Performance Advisor. When you are on a particular installation window, the corresponding
step is highlighted in the left pane for your reference.
Help: Click to view help for the current installation window.
Back, Next: Click to navigate to the previous and subsequent installation windows. The selec-
tion on the current installation window is retained when you click Back.
Cancel: Click to stop the installation and exit the P9000 Performance Advisor installer.
The above-mentioned framework is common across the P9000 Performance Advisor installation
windows.
