Confirming the P9000 Performance Advisor services
To confirm whether the P9000 Performance Advisor services have started after installation:
1. Select Start > Run, type services.msc, and press the Enter key.
The Services window appears.
2. If P9000 Performance Advisor is installed, the status of the following services are in the Started
mode.
HP StorageWorks P9000 Performance Advisor Database
HP StorageWorks P9000 Performance Advisor Database Listener
HP StorageWorks P9000 Performance Advisor Security
HP StorageWorks P9000 Performance Advisor Tomcat
HP StorageWorks P9000 Performance Advisor Monitor
NOTE:
The HP StorageWorks P9000 Performance Advisor Database Job Scheduler and HP
StorageWorks P9000 Performance Advisor Database VSS Writer Service are shipped with
Oracle, but they are not necessary to use for P9000 Performance Advisor.
3. Close the Services dialog box.
After confirming that the major services have started, configure any pre-launch settings, as applicable
on your management station or the system from where you want to launch P9000 Performance Advisor.

Configuring P9000 Performance Advisor related settings
Configure the following settings as appropriate on your web client or management station after
installing or upgrading P9000 Performance Advisor. It includes creating and adding users as
administrators, or users for the different authentication types.
Configuring the web browser web proxy server settings
If not already done, configure the IE browser's web proxy server settings on your system from where
you want to access P9000 Performance Advisor. If your IE browser is configured to use a web proxy
server, you must configure it to not use a proxy server for the IP address or for the fully qualified
domain name of the management station. For more information, see Configuring the web browser
proxy server settings on page 33.
Adding users for P9000 Performance Advisor Native Authentication
NOTE:
You can complete this procedure only after logging into P9000 Performance Advisor.
Create new user records and assign them as administrators, or users, if P9000 Performance Advisor
