After the upgrade, verify that the P9000 Performance Advisor Windows host agent services have
started. Additionally, you must complete the remaining post-installation prerequisites and tasks
for using P9000 Performance Advisor. For more information, see P9000 Performance Advisor
Windows host agent post-installation steps on page 78.
Upgrading the P9000 Performance Advisor UNIX host agents
For UNIX host agent upgrade, see Installing the P9000 Performance Advisor UNIX host
agents on page 79.
IMPORTANT:
By default, port 80 is reserved on the management station for the P900 Performance advisor and
UNIX host agent communication, during the UNIX host agent upgrade. You might experience
connectivity issues in scenarios where you install P9000 Performance Advisor and upgrade the
UNIX host agent. The connectivity issue can arise only if you specified a port number other than
port 80 when installing P9000 Performance Advisor installation. For more information on resolving
this issue, on page 135.
You can upgrade to the P9000 Performance Advisor UNIX host agent v5.2 from the v4.5, v4.5.1,
v4.6, v5.0, v5.1, or v5.2 UNIX host agent. Before upgrading to v5.3, do one of the following:
Upgrade to the v4.5, v4.5.1, v4.6, v5.0, v5.1 or v5.2 UNIX host agent.
OR
Remove the existing pre-v4.5 and install the v4.5, v4.5.1, v4.6, v5.0, v5.1 or v5.2 UNIX host
agent.

If you are upgrading a P9000 Performance Advisor LINUX host agent, you have to remove the
existing version of the host agent and install the latest version. For more information, see Removing
a UNIX host agent on page 122.
Verifying the P9000 Performance Advisor host agents upgrade
To verify the host agent upgrade process:
1. Launch P9000 Performance Advisor.
2. Click Array View in the left pane.
3. Select Arrays.
4. Go to the Host Information tab.
5. Select the upgraded host entry and request a host update to view the updated RMLIB and host
agent versions.
