HP StorageWorks P9000 Performance Advisor Software v5.3 User and Troubleshooting Guide (T1789-96322, August 2011)

Deleting component records. For more information, see Deleting records in the Alarms
table on page 156
If you want to configure notification and monitoring settings across component records, click Select
All to select all the records in the Alarms table, and then make the changes. Click Clear All to clear
the check boxes for the selected records.
Filtering records in Alarms table
There are two levels of filters to view records in the Alarms table. Following is the sequence in which
you can filter records:
1. First level filter, which is based on components selected in the component selection tree under
Alarms. The first level filter results in specific set of records corresponding to the selected disk
array or component.
If you click an XP or a P9000 disk array in the component selection tree, all the alarm records
configured on the components in the selected disk array are displayed in the Alarms table. Also,
the array related metric is displayed in the Choose Metrics box, so that you can create an alarm
on the selected disk array.
2. Second level filter, which is based on the metrics and status of alarms configured on components.
The second level filter further refines the output from first level filtering, and provides records
specific to a selected metric and alarm status.
Filtering records based on components
Select an XP or a P9000 disk array or the respective component in the component selection tree, for
which you want to view the corresponding set of records in the Alarms table. You can also search
for a particular component in the component selection tree. For more information, see Searching for
components on page 157.
The following changes occur:
If you select an XP or a P9000 disk array, all the alarm records that are created on the respective
components are displayed in the Alarms table. Also, the Metrics list under the Alarm Configuration
tab displays all the metrics for which the alarm records are configured.
If you select a component, the records are accordingly filtered and displayed per the level at which
you executed your search. If alarms are not configured on the selected component, the following
informational message, No alarms are configured is displayed at the beginning of the
Alarms table.
Only the metrics associated with the selected component are displayed in the Metrics list under
the Alarm configuration tab.
If alarms are already enabled on the selected component, the corresponding history is also simul-
taneously filtered and records for the selected XP or P9000 disk array, or respective component
are automatically displayed in the Alarms History table. For more information on viewing alarms
history, see Alarm History screen on page 160.
The following are a few examples for XP disk array 10055:
If you select Front-end > Ports (8), only the alarms configured for the corresponding 8 port IDs are
displayed in the Alarms table.
If you select Front-end > Ports (8) > CL1A, only alarms configured for CL1A are displayed in the
Alarms table.
If you select only the XP disk array 10055, the alarms configured on all the components in 10055
is displayed in the Alarms table.
