HP StorageWorks P9000 Performance Advisor Software v5.3 User and Troubleshooting Guide (T1789-96322, August 2011)

3. If your application is associated with an XP disk array, view the performance data of the LDEVs,
ports, CLPRs, and the RAID groups.
If your application is associated with a P9000 disk array, view the performance data of LDEVs,
ports, CLPRs, and RAID groups, and the usage data of the MP blades.
The data can be viewed at the application, host, and the WWN levels. For more information,
see Viewing performance or usage data for components on page 356.
4. Plot graphs to analyze the performance or the usage of individual components that are associated
with the application. For more information, see Plotting charts on page 365.
Associating applications with hosts
Prerequisites
Ensure that the following prerequisites are met before associating an application with the hosts:
Know the application for which you want to troubleshoot the associated LDEVs performance.
Know the XP and the P9000 disk arrays that have LDEVs associated with your application.
Know the host where your application resides.
Know the WWNs for the hosts.
Run the XPInfo command at the command prompt of the host where your application resides.
The HBA Port WWN in the P9000Info output provides the WWN number. If your host does not
have P9000Info, download the executable from the Support screen in P9000 Performance Advisor
(click Support on the Dashboard screen) and install on the host.
Ensure that the configuration data collection is complete and the performance data collection is
in progress for the XP and the P9000 disk arrays.
IMPORTANT:
Your application can be associated with LDEVs that are made available through different hosts
and WWNs.
Initially, when P9000 Performance Advisor is first installed, the Existing list does not display any
application or host entries, as the association is not yet configured between the application and
the respective LDEVs.
There is no limit on the number of applications that you can associate with hosts and WWNs.
