NOTE: It is a prerequisite to set the default installation directory path. To set the path, complete
the following steps:
1. On your management station, go to Start > Control Panel > System.
The System properties dialog box appears.
2. Select the Advanced tab and click Environment Variables.
The list of Environment Variables are displayed.
3. Under System Variables, click New, and add a new variable.
For example, you can add JAVA_HOME=C:\Program Files\Java\jre6 as the new
variable. The Java executable file resides inside the bin folder of the above path and the path
may vary according to the Java installation or versions of Java installed on your management
station.
For more information to find the Java installation path, see “Prerequisites” (page 6).
4. Under System Variables, select PATH, and click Edit. Append the jre bin path to the <Path>
variable, and then click OK.
For example, you can append C:\Program Files\Java\jre\bin to the <PATH> variable.
The path may vary according to the Java installation or versions of Java installed on your
management station.
To install CLUI on Windows platform, complete the following steps:
1. Navigate to <dvd_drive>:\Tools\CmdLineUserInterface\.
2. Unpack the winclui.zip file, and save the contents in a temporary directory.
3. Run install.bat.
4. The script checks the location indicated by the JAVA_HOME environment variable to find out
if the java.exe or jre.exe program exists.
NOTE: If the Java or JRE commands are not found, the script exits.
5. The default installation location is C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\Performance
Advisor\ displayed and you are prompted to enter the CLI (non-default) installation location.
Enter n to continue with the default installation location.
Enter y for non-default installation location, and type the path of the location where you want
to install the CLUI.
NOTE: A message displays the properties utility. This utility will create and maintain the
wrapper.utilities file.
6. The script provides an option for enabling the IPv6.
Enter n to continue with the default value, which is IPv4.
7. The script prompts you to enter the management station name or IP Address.
If you want to retain the default value, which is http:\\<localhost>, press Enter and
proceed to the next step. In addition, port 80 will be the default port used to establish
communication with the management station.
