and data collection failure notifications.

Based on the host agents you want to install, download the respective host agent files to the respective hosts.

Remove the existing version of the HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor Linux host agent, if the upgrade is on a
Linux host.

Upgrading HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor host agents
Upgrade to the latest versions of HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor host agents.
At this point, return to the respective HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor host agent installers to proceed with
the host agents upgrade. For more information, see “Upgrading to the latest versions of host agents (page 108).
IMPORTANT: After upgrading HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor host agents, return to this checklist to
complete the remaining set of prerequisites and tasks for using HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor.
After upgrading HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor host
agents
Verify the HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor host agents upgrade.
The procedures are the same as given for verifying the host agents installation. For more information, see
“Verifying if the host agents appear in HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor” (page 82).
Using HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor
Launch HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor and log in using your credentials.
For more information, see “Launching HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor (page 66).
Start collecting the configuration and performance data for the XP and P9000 disk arrays.
For more information, see “Using P9000 Performance Advisor” (page 94).
Determining the current version of HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor
To upgrade to HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor v5.5, you must have one of the following versions:
v5.3, v5.3.1, 5.4, or 5.4.1 installed on your management station. To upgrade to v5.3 or v5.4,
see the HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor Software Installation Guide provided on installation
disk 2 in the respective software bundles. To upgrade to v5.3.1 or v5.4.1, see the HP XP P9000
Performance Advisor Software Release Notes provided in the respective patch bundles. You can
upgrade to v5.3.1 or v5.4.1 only from v5.3 or v5.4 respectively.
IMPORTANT: If you are using Performance Advisor v4.0, v4.1, v4.5, or v4.5.1, your upgrade
path should be: v4.0- v4.5.1–> v4.6 –> v.5.0 –> v5.2 or v5.3 –> v.5.4 –> v5.5
To determine the version installed on your management station, log on to HP XP P9000 Performance
Advisor using your account credentials. You can also login using the default administrator account
(administrator:administrator), if the HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor Native
Authentication method has been selected for the existing version of HP XP P9000 Performance
Advisor. The installed version is displayed in the top left corner along with the product name and
the build number in the HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor Dashboard screen.
