software (page 72)

Upgrading the HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor host agents
To upgrade the current host agent version to v5.5, you must have one of the following versions:
v5.3, v5.3.1, 5.4, or 5.4.1 installed on your host. To upgrade to v5.3 or v5.4, see the HP XP
P9000 Performance Advisor Software Installation Guide provided on installation disk 2 in the
respective software bundles. To upgrade to v5.3.1 or v5.4.1, see the HP XP P9000 Performance
Advisor Software Release Notes provided in the respective patch bundles. You can upgrade to
v5.3.1 or v5.4.1 only from v5.3 or v5.4 respectively.
Alternatively, you can remove the existing host agent version and install the v5.5 host agent.
IMPORTANT:
By default, port 80 is reserved on the management station for the HP XP P9000 Performance
advisor and host agent communication during the host agent upgrade. So, you might
experience connectivity issues in scenarios where you installed HP XP P9000 Performance
Advisor and upgraded the UNIX host agent. The connectivity issue can arise only if you
specified a port number other than port 80 when installing HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor
installation. To resolve port conflict issues, see the HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor Software
Troubleshooting and FAQs Guide. For document download information, see “Related
information (page 118).
If you want to upgrade the Windows host agent installed in a location other than the following
default installation location, <Installation_Drive>:\Program Files\
Hewlett-Packard\xppa, remove the existing version and then install the v5.5 host agent.
For more information, see the Notes section in the HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor Release
Notes. For document download location, see “Related information (page 118).
If you are upgrading a HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor LINUX host agent, you have to
remove the existing version of the host agent and install the latest version. For more information,
see “Removing a UNIX host agent (page 113).
