Reconfigure the email and alarm notification settings on the management station to receive alarms, reports,
and data collection failure notifications.

Remove the existing version of the HP XP7 Performance Advisor Linux host agent, if the upgrade is on a Linux
host.

Upgrading HP XP7 Performance Advisor host agents
Upgrade to the latest versions of HP XP7 Performance Advisor host agents.
At this point, return to the respective HP XP7 Performance Advisor host agent installers to proceed with the host
agents upgrade. For more information, see “Upgrading to the latest versions of host agents” (page 105).
IMPORTANT: After upgrading HP XP7 Performance Advisor host agents, return to this checklist to complete
the remaining set of prerequisites and tasks for using HP XP7 Performance Advisor.
After upgrading HP XP7 Performance Advisor host agents
Verify the HP XP7 Performance Advisor host agents upgrade.
The procedures are the same as given for verifying the host agents installation. For more information, see
“Verifying if the host agents appear in HP XP7 Performance Advisor” (page 79).
Using HP XP7 Performance Advisor
Launch HP XP7 Performance Advisor and log in using your credentials.
For more information, see “Launching HP XP7 Performance Advisor” (page 64).
Start collecting the configuration and performance data for the XP, P9500 and XP7 disk arrays.
For more information, see “Using XP7 Performance Advisor” (page 92).
Determining the current version of HP XP7 Performance Advisor
To upgrade to HP XP7 Performance Advisor v6.1, you must have v5.5, v5.5.1 or v6.0 installed
on your management station. To upgrade to v5.5 or v6.0, see the HP XP7 Performance Advisor
Software Installation Guide provided on installation disk 2 in the respective software bundles.
To determine the version installed on your management station, log on to HP XP7 Performance
Advisor using your account credentials. You can also login using the default administrator account
(administrator:administrator), if the HP XP7 Performance Advisor Native Authentication
method has been selected for the existing version of HP XP7 Performance Advisor. The installed
version is displayed in the top left corner along with the product name and the build number in
the HP XP7 Performance Advisor Dashboard screen.
