10 Modifying or repairing HP XP7 Performance Advisor
After installing HP XP7 Performance Advisor or the host agents, modify the settings that you selected
during the installation.
Modifying HP XP7 Performance Advisor program features
You can modify the following HP XP7 Performance Advisor settings after installation:
• Selecting a different authentication method from the list
• Selecting or removing the HP XP7 Performance Advisor host agents and tools
For example, if you want to install a host agent that was not selected during the installation of HP
XP7 Performance Advisor, choose to modify the HP XP7 Performance Advisor settings.
To modify the current HP XP7 Performance Advisor program features:
1. Log on to your management station as a default administrator (administrator:administrator).
2. Insert the HP XP7 Performance Advisor installation disk 1 into the DVD drive. If the installation
wizard does not start automatically, run the PA_Server.exe file from the HP XP7 Performance
Advisor installation disk 1.
The Welcome installation window appears.
3. Click Next.
4. Select Modify as the Program Maintenance type and click Next.
5. Select the authentication type that you want to implement for HP XP7 Performance Advisor
users and click Next. For more information, see “Implementing the authentication method”
(page 49).
6. Select the program features that you want to install or remove, and click Next. For more
information, see “Selecting complete or custom installation method” (page 57).
7. Click Install on the Ready to Modify window.
The setup program transfers and removes application files (as appropriate) to, and from the
destination folder, and configures HP XP7 Performance Advisor. When prompted for the
second disk, insert the HP XP7 Performance Advisor installation disk 2 into the DVD drive,
and click OK to continue.
8. When the program features are modified, the Installation Complete window appears. Click
Finish to close the installation wizard.
Repairing HP XP7 Performance Advisor program features
To repair the current HP XP7 Performance Advisor program features:
1. Perform steps 1–3 mentioned for modifying HP XP7 Performance Advisor program features
(see “Modifying HP XP7 Performance Advisor program features” (page 107).
2. Select Repair as the Program Maintenance type, and click Next.
3. Click Install on the Ready to Repair window.
The setup program transfers and removes application files (as appropriate) to, and from the
destination folder, and configures HP XP7 Performance Advisor. When prompted for the
second disk, insert the HP XP7 Performance Advisor installation disk 2 into the DVD drive,
and click OK to continue.
4. When the repair is done, the Installation Complete window appears. Click Finish to close the
installation wizard.
