Pre installation scenario
If HP XP7 Installation Assistant detects that HP XP7 Performance Advisor is not installed on the
system, then the Pre-Install tab is enabled, and the following tests are performed:

• Target Operating System check: Verifies whether the target operating system is compatible
with HP XP7 Performance Advisor v6.1, else displays an error message.
• Environment variables check: Verifies whether the following environment variables are present
on the system. If any of the following variables are present, it displays an error message.
◦ %ORACLE_HOME%
◦ %ORACLE_SID%
◦ %CATALINA_HOME%
• Hard disk space check: Verifies whether 1 GB free space is available in the temp location
and also verifies whether 64 GB free space is available in all the drives, else displays a
warning message.
• Physical memory check: Verifies whether 1 GB of physical memory is available on the system,
else displays a warning message.
• Static IP check: Verifies whether the system has static IP address, else displays an error message.
• Default tomcat ports check: Verifies whether Port 80 (HTTP) and 443 (HTTPS) are free, else
displays a warning message.
• Incompatible software check: Verifies whether IIS Admin service is up and running. If the
service is up and running, the tool displays an error message. Displays a warning message
if the IIS service is installed but not started.
Post installation scenario
If HP XP7 Installation Assistant detects that HP XP7 PA v6.1 is installed on the system, the Post-Install
tab is enabled, and the following tests are performed:
Performing checks using the HP XP7 Performance Advisor Installation Assistant 13
