Allocating 1 GB free disk space in the TEMP folder
At least 1 GB free disk space in your management station’s TEMP folder is required for a complete
installation of HP XP7 Performance Advisor. In this context, TEMP folder is the location mentioned
in your user or system environment variable named TEMP.
The following components are also copied during a complete installation:
Operating platform-specific HP XP7 Performance Advisor host agents
Operating platform-specific HP XP7 Performance Advisor CLUI software
Tools, HP XPWatch, HP XPSketch, and HP XPInfo
By default, the CLUI software is copied to the management station. If you do not want to copy any
other components in the above mentioned list, select the custom installation method and choose
only those components that you want copy. Each component that you choose displays the
approximate disk space that it requires on the management station. For more information, see
“Selecting components to install (custom installation)” (page 58).
Configuring a Loopback Adapter or static IP address
Configure a Loopback Adapter or a static IP address on your management station.
Loopback Adapter
A Loopback Adapter is required if you want to install HP XP7 Performance Advisor on:
A DHCP computer
A non-networked system and plan to connect the computer to a network after installation
NOTE: The Loopback Adapter installed on the system must be made the primary network adapter.
To verify if a Loopback Adapter is already installed on your computer, run the ipconfig/all
command:
DRIVE_LETTER:\>ipconfig /all
If there is a Loopback Adapter installed, a section that lists the values for the Loopback Adapter is
displayed. For example:
