HP XP7 PA Software Installation Guide

Read through the instructions displayed on the Welcome installation window.
• To proceed with the installation, you must complete a set of installation prerequisites and
tasks provided in a checklist that appears when you click Launch Checklist. For more
information, see “Launching the HP XP7 Performance Advisor checklist” (page 45).
• Before you proceed with the upgrade, the installation wizard displays the following
informational prompt:
The upgrade process may take time to complete (approximately 6 hours for a 150 GB
database)
Click Yes to continue with the upgrade. Click No to cancel the upgrade.
If you click Yes to continue, you must complete a set of prerequisites and tasks that are
provided in a separate checklist. For more information, see “Launching the HP XP7
Performance Advisor upgrade checklist” (page 103).
Launching the HP XP7 Performance Advisor checklist
To launch the installation or upgrade checklist, click Launch Checklist on the HP XP7 Performance
Advisor Welcome installation window, one of the following checklists appear:
• The installation checklist appears, if the installation wizard has not detected an existing version
of HP XP7 Performance Advisor on the management station. This checklist guides you through
the installation of HP XP7 Performance Advisor. For more information on the checklist, see
“Installation checklist for HP XP7 Performance Advisor” (page 18).
• The upgrade checklist appears, if the installation wizard has detected an existing version of
HP XP7 Performance Advisor on the management station. This checklist guides you through
the upgrade of HP XP7 Performance Advisor. For more information on the checklist, see
“Upgrade checklist for HP XP7 Performance Advisor” (page 99).
To upgrade to the latest version of HP XP7 Performance Advisor, the current version on your
management station must be V5.5, v5.5.1 or v6.0.
