In “Installation work flow” (page 7), the CLUI, HP XPWatch, HP XPSketch, and HP XPInfo are
additional utilities provided with HP XP7 Performance Advisor. “HP XP7 Performance Advisor
utilities” (page 9) provides a brief description of these utilities. The HP XP7 Performance Advisor
Software Installation Guide covers only the end-to-end installation and upgrade of the HP XP7
Performance Advisor, and host agents. For information on the installation and use of the CLUI, HP
XPWatch, and HP XPSketch, see the respective documentation. For document download location,
see “Related information” (page 115).
IMPORTANT: The CLUI, HP XPWatch, HP XPSketch, and HP XPInfo are available in the Tools
folder on the HP XP7 Performance Advisor installation disk 2.

HP XPWatch is a command-line utility provided with HP
XP7 Performance Advisor. It is designed for focused
HP XPWatch
troubleshooting and can capture data as frequently as
every five seconds. HP XPWatch monitors the performance
of components, such as the ports, CHIPs/CHAs,
ACPs/DKAs, RAID groups, continuous access journals,
and the LDEVs in the XP and the XP7 disk arrays.
In addition, HP XPWatch also monitors the usage of MP
blades in the XP7 disk arrays.
The performance metrics are displayed on the console of
your host system. The output data is stored in a comma
separated file (.csv) that you can load in HP XPSketch to
obtain a visual representation of the output data.
HP XPSketch is a Windows-based utility provided by HP
XP7 Performance Advisor. It enables you to view a
