HP Integrated Archive Platform Performance Graphs and Counters Whitepaper

2
Introduction
The objective of this whitepaper is to provide clarification of the Integrated Archive Platform (IAP)
Performance Graph feature in the Platform Control Center (PCC). The performance graphs provide
administrators with a graphical real time and historical view of IAP performance. Performance of the
IAP can be monitored either at the platform level, or by the individual systems that comprise the IAP.
This paper will explain the performance counters available to the Performance Graph feature and
how to generate performance graphs for specific time periods. Examples of how to utilize the
performance graphs to identify potential performance problems with the IAP will also be provided.
The Performance Graph feature is split into two sections. The first is for reporting the performance of
the Platform Store and Indexing; the second is for System Monitoring of individual servers in the IAP.
The Platform Store and Indexing section performance counters can be used to create graphs that
illustrate ingestion and indexing performance of the IAP. The System Monitoring section provides
individual server performance and resource utilization of server host groups in the IAP.
