Setting up the RISS Lotus Notes Interface
Before you can use the RISS Lotus Notes Interface, your system administrator must rstinstalltheLotus
Notes plug-
in.
Supported Lotus Notes versions
Use one of the following suppor ted versions of Lotus N otes when using the RISS Lotus N otes Interface:
Lotus Notes 6.5 .3
Lotus Notes 6.5 .4
Lotus Notes 6.5 .5
Lotus Notes 7.0
RISS does not support Lotus Notes on Macintosh OS or Notes running in WINE on Linux OS.
Installing the Lotus Notes plug-in
Contact your system administrator or refer to the RISS Administrator Guide for more information about
installing the Lotus Notes plug-in.
Understanding the user interface
You can use Lotus Notes to display and work with archived messages.
Your system administrator can archive email messages based on certain rules to reduce the size of your
mailbox. You can work with archived email messages as you would any email message. For instance,
you can reply to, forward, or delete an archived email m essage. D eleting an archived email message
deletes the message from your mailbox, but not from the system.
You c an also use the search tools to locate archived documents (email messages or les) . For more

To sear
ch for archived documents, use the RISS Web Interface. You can create a link in the Lotus Notes
navigation pane that takes you directly to the RISS Web Interface when clicked. For more information
about using the RISS Web Interface, see RISS Web Interface on page 15.
To set up a link that directs you to the RISS Web Interface:
1. Open Lotus Domino Designer 5.x, 6.x, or 7.x.
2. On th
e Design pane, click Resources (Domino Designer 5.x) or Shared Resources (Domino Designer
6.x or 7.x), and then click Images.
