HP P6000 Replication Solutions Manager 5.5 Release Notes (T3680-96067, June 2012)

3. If LVM.EnableResignature is set to 1, no action is necessary.
If the value is 0, run the following command to set the value to 1:
$/usr/sbin/esxcfg-advcfg -s 1 /LVM/EnableResignature
RSM job fails when running backup software
This may occur in environments where backup software is being used to back up the entire server,
including the RSM install directory\RSM\database folder. The backup software may prevent
writes to this folder, which will cause the database service and any currently executing RSM jobs to
fail. To avoid this situation, remove the RSM install directory\RSM\database folder and its
sub-folders from the backup set.
Disabling Shrink option on Host volumes
If the DCM shrink option is not being used on the host volumes of a particular host, then you can
disable it. This improves the performance of the host agent.
Make the following changes in the hprsmha.cfg file.
1. Change
#DISABLE_SHRINK false
to
DISABLE_SHRINK true
2. Restart the HP RSM host agent service.

HP P6000 Dynamic Capacity Management workarounds and limitations
This section describes HP P6000 Dynamic Capacity Management (DC-Management) workarounds
and limitations.
Using the HP P6000 DC-Management analysis tool
The HP P6000 DC-Management analysis tool is intended for use only with host volumes that support
DC-Management. However, the tool can be invoked for any host volumes that appear in the replication
manager GUI, which allows you to generate reports regardless of whether or not DC-Management is
supported on the operating system. Reports for operating systems not supported by DC-Management
are for informational purposes only and cannot be used to estimate DC-Management policy settings.
See the HP P6000 Enterprise Virtual Array Compatibility Reference for operating systems supported
by DC-Management.
