IMPORTANT: HP P6000 Replication Solutions Manager supports all HP P6000/Enterprise Virtual
Array (EVA) models.
HP P6000 Replication Solutions Manager is also known as the replication manager.
This document contains information for the following HP P6000 replication software products:
• HP P6000 Business Copy
• HP P6000 Continuous Access
• HP P6000 Replication Solutions Manager 5.6
• HP P6000 Dynamic Capacity Management
To determine which versions of array controller software are supported with HP P6000 Replication
Solutions Manager 5.6, see Table 1.0, “P6000 software solution compatibility,” in the HP P6000

Update recommendation
HP recommends that all users upgrade to HP P6000 Replication Solutions Manager 5.6.
Enhancements
HP P6000 Replication Solutions Manager 5.6 includes the following enhancement:
• HP P6000 Command View—Version support for HP P6000 Command View 10.2 added.
IMPORTANT: JRE 1.4 is required to install HP P6000 Replication Solutions Manager Host Agent
5.6 on HP-UX and Solaris x86 platforms. After installing HP P6000 Replication Solutions Manager
Host Agent 5.6, you can upgrade JRE to Version 1.6. However, you must retain JRE 1.4 on the machine
running HP P6000 Replication Solutions Manager Host Agent 5.6. If you remove JRE 1.4, uninstalling
the replication manager may fail.
HP P6000 Replication Solutions Manager
HP P6000 Replication Solutions Manager (the replication manager) is value-added software that
simplifies and automates the use of HP P6000 Business Copy and HP P6000 Continuous Access. This
section describes replication manager upgrade information, enhancements, and workarounds.

Installing the HP P6000 Replication Solutions Manager 5.6 in a Postgre SQL configuration
If another application installs Postgre SQL in the same directory as the one in which HP P6000
Replication Solutions Manager 5.6 is installed, the replication manager database could be corrupted.
